Jodogahama Beach

浄土ヶ浜 Jodogahama Beach is the representation of Miyako's scenery. It remains us of a water color painting with the vivid colors of green pine trees on white quartz rocks and deep blue water. Please come and see !
It is told that the Buddhist monk Reikyo said this beach was just like Jodo (Pure Land), and named it Jodogahama Beach with great admiration.

It takes about 10 minutes to drive from Miyako train station and about a 15-minute walk from the Jodogahama Parking Lot No. 1, No.2, No. 3.
Alternatively, it takes 20 minutes by bus from Miyako train station and get off at the Oku-Joodogahama bus stop.
The capacity of the Parking Lots (No. 1, No. 2, No. 3) is 358 cars and 18 buses in all.
During the months of April to October, driving on the road from the Parking lot No. 1 to Oku-Jodogahama is restricted except to approved cars, taxes, sightseeing buses and no one is allowed to drive on the road to Oku-Jodogahama at night (18:00-8:00) throughout the year.
If you are with a handicapped person or elderly who have difficulty with walking, please feel free to visit the window at the entrance of the Jodogahama Bus Terminal Building to receive the approval for driving on the road to Oku-Jodogaham.
